With overall food at the property just being OK (remember my constant sushi bar return - it was my go-to when dinner at one of the other restaurants didn’t do it for me), for that reason I can’t do this property again. To our dismay, nachos were one of many things they just couldn’t bring to the room. Come to think of it, my room didn’t have a menu of what they actually did have at room service - we just called and asked for things.

Do you want to know my ultimate gripe? Drum roll, please: they do NOT have nachos on the room service menu. The Beach Palace was a nice Nissan at best. Not the Ferrari the desk and (for lack of a better descriptor) “time share” staff would say the hotel is. There were the regular wear and tear things that, again, made it just a hotel (see photos). No rules here - jump in children!! But hey, I was on their water slide in the adjacent pool, so I guess sharing is caring. We literally had the beach and a swim up bar pool with kids in it. At the Beach Palace, there wasn’t anything to do but go outside, drink and sit. a resort) - just gives you 2 days of entertainment after that you are bored. To get a drink you have to go to the pool or restaurant. The Beach Palace is just that - just a hotel - no real shows, activities, parties, notable clubs, and they do NOT have a bar in the lobby.

If you don’t like to go out and see the local area, don’t go to Cancun and stay in a hotel - you need a resort. Now we are at everyone’s favorite part: Where they fell short? I am just going to jump past the story of the guy that tried to show us around the property with a flaming cold sore, and talk about how the Beach Palace is just one building.

The message they are trying to communicate is “buttoned up, and there especially for you”. (the question you should ask now, is why did you keep going back to the Wok?) The towels, cookies, dinner rolls, and anything else they could stack, were stacked like a US grocery store (to abundance!). I murdered that sushi like 3 nights of my trip. The Wok, specifically the sushi bar, saved my time at the Beach Palace. Fun example: Child throws 'poop' in the pool, they dive in to get it, you say thanks, they say "It's a pleasure" - 'turd' in hand. And you will not catch a staff member not saying it. I think they are some of the nicest staff members I have met in Cancun (this would be my 5th trip to Cancun). The staff you interact with regularly is really nice. But let's talk about the good things first. I like to cut to the chase - will i go back, no.
